Minnesota Synth-Pop. - Listen to Bora York: Dry Land

Dry Land is a song about abuse, healing, and hope. This married indie-rock duo from the Midwest creates a soothing blend of vocal duet and 8th-note guitar drone, using a spacious and ambient approach to pop melody and a touch of electronic beat-making.
The washed-out production creates a powerful ending, as the sundry images and nuanced musicality are left to resonate in sympathy together. The synergy between vocal parts is clear, and from the intimations of solitude, as well as the outright love-speak, we are engaged by a push-pull of sweetness versus stoicism: a sort of half-light between love and life. The vibrancy that remains is poignant and subtle, a bit like the nature of affection itself.
