We've written about Bad Flamingo before – this two-woman team of songwriter/performers has carved their own niche into the granite face of indie rock, by projecting a very specific hint of cerebral peckishness into their signature mix of folk and art rock. Shaken over ice with a little country twang as garnish, latest single "Miles" serves up a cocktail of subtle flavors: the slide guitar, the lo-fi drums, the overdriven solo with a wah pedal, together contribute to a smoky sort of psychedelic, countrified nerd-pop. It's all very mysterious, and well-produced. Husky, whispered vocals and colorful lyrics dot a landscape of rattlesnake shakers and twangy guitar riffs.

"Miles" is the kind of song you can polish your boots to.
