Enjoy this super-chill meditation with smooth psychedelic guitar music featuring the voice of legendary Zen master Alan Watts. This is the closing track of Bardo Stars' debut LP, which was recorded on a summer afternoon in a DIY warehouse in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles with LA-based artist and musician Vinyl Williams.
Bardo Stars' debut album fuses elements of devotional mysticism with classic rock-and-roll stylings, and is heavily inspired by the psychedelic movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Amidst the rise of hatred, fear, and bigotry rattling the world, Bardo Stars strive to express a message of peace, love, and unity. With sampled audio of Alan Watts' musings on ideas about self, this is one zen-inspired interpretation of what it means to be a seeker of truth in the globalized 21st century.
The work of Alan Watts is more vital now than ever, and we were excited to produce this lyric video that allows his voice and use of language to shine. The authentic sound of his voice is very soothing, and the clips that were chosen make a strong and simple case for his version of mindfulness.
