Jason Broyles is a singer-songwriter, recording and performing artist based in Nashville, Tennessee. With latest track "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)," he's putting out an album of Christmas classics, with a bit of the old Nashville twist. There's almost nowhere else in the world that is going to have as many fantastic roots style of players, from banjo to Dobro to mando; and they're all on this track, along with some beautiful violins, double bass, and a wonderful vocal performance. It was already a fantastic song, courtesy of one of my personal heroes, John Lennon; but here, it takes a step into the Appalachian foothills, and does fantastic justice to the resource of talent that is the local scene. The arrangement is spot on, the vocals are mixed beautifully, and the dobro licks tie the song together like a cute little Christmas present.

This is the song you break out the holiday sweater for. And the eggnog.
