Margaux Bouchegnies is a singer-songwriter from Seattle, currently based in Brooklyn. Influenced by folk-rock of the 70s, Joni Mitchell, David Byrne, and Lyle Brewer, her guitar-driven songwriting balances lush arrangements with poignant, soft-spoken lyrics.

Cave In is a multifaceted and ambitious single that joins the gritty pop style of Aimee Mann with a dynamic arrangement and a stone-faced maturity that is far beyond her years. Margaux explores the turbulence of an ever-changing self-image, contrasted with someone else's old idea of who we are, and how that can often be impossible to adjust. Margaux's forthcoming release More Brilliant is the Hand that Throws the Coin EP will be out later this month on Massif Records, and features contributions from Reid Jenkins of Morningsiders, and Willem DeKoch of The Westerlies. Her sound is a refreshing combination of emotional self-scrutiny and effortless musicianship, mixed with a keen sense for melodic hooks and raw indie-rock mojo.
