Dutch indie-pop hitmaker Blanks is back with a new EP, "cheap sodas and ice cream kisses." Drawing heavily from his beloved era of 80s pop and dance, Blanks’ tunes bring together a youthful sense of euphoria with a knack for upbeat hooks and lyrical confections like "frappuccinos baby; they taste so fabricated."

In the midst of a worldwide pandemic, Blanks' lighthearted music is a welcome distraction from the dreary current-day news cycle. "Favorite Nightmare" explores the confusion felt from a bad break-up, and delivers a fine example of the groovy bass-lines and 80s-style synths that have made his music a sensation on YouTube, and lately, also on TikTok. Blanks will be on tour starting in May of next year, with dates across Germany, France, Denmark, and the UK, including Brighton’s The Great Escape festival. The enthusiastic energy of "Favorite Nightmare" finds Blanks mixing feelings of nostalgia with a laid-back and cheerful vibe. This fun song reminds us all of that amazing summer with friends, and gives us hope for what the future holds.
