A fun look at the stay-or-go moment of real potential, and the hastily-made decisions of youth.

This bouncy synth-pop single brings memories of 80’s New Wave, from the different textures of keyboard to the big reverb and the groovy sequencing. Attraction, the latest from Seattic, is a worthy extension of that dance-oriented style, and the counterpoint between finely-tuned waveforms will feel immediately familiar.

The pop-oriented breaks, the gated snare, even the tom-fills are on point with both a retro sound and a modern production edge. With the recent resurgence of vaporwave and other New Wave references, this song fits easily into the more energetic side of that landscape next to proto-bands like New Order and The Psychedelic Furs. Attraction is a fun look at the stay-or-go moment of real potential, and the hastily-made decisions of youth.

The grass is greener on every side
of the mountain in your heart
that’s why you can’t decide

Seattic is the solo project from Adrian Osman, Melbourne-based songwriter and former lead guitarist of Brisbane rock outfit Tourism. This song is featured on our CHILL Angeles playlist.
