From Australia's Hollow Coves, and recent signing Salt Tree, to present moment - Vacation Manor is Nettwerk's latest flavor of folk-heavy soul crooning, hailing this time from the hills of Lynchburg, Virginia. We wrote about them earlier in the year, and they are back with a very stripped down production and a delicate vocal performance from Nathan Towles. On a song like this, it's always the lyrics that stand out, and "Damage is Done" feels like an essential bit of self therapy:

I guess the better side of me is
The one that got away

So much space in the mix, and so much honesty. The lyrics to "Damage is Done" feel very much like hard-won lessons from the kind of relationship that many of us can relate to: where all we have is intimation and complexity, as the landscape shifts so quickly that we can barely keep up. This soundtrack to a love that endures heartbreak is bound to come in handy for the next generation of anxious lovers.

I wanted to make a song for my wife for when she feels worried

Vacation Manor's self-titled debut is impressive and you should listen to it.
