Sam Lynch - Christine

The sweet notes of the chorus and the supple presence of the lead vocal add a fey gravitas and a wistful romance to the narrative of separation.

With a gorgeous, soft-stepping voice steeped in the dedicated folk tradition of a Laura Marling, Sam Lynch sings us a poem about coming to peace with memories of the past. Just a few added elements, the occasional harmonic swell, and a hint of lap slide are enough to put us on that porch in Burnaby, swaying in a rocking chair, listening to the sound of qualified regret.

It's a confessional, a heart's song, and an homage to voices and characters past. The sweet notes of the chorus and the supple presence of the lead vocal add a fey gravitas and a wistful romance to the narrative of separation.

Independent alt-folk artist Sam Lynch is based in Vancouver.
