If you live long enough, you really do see cycles of everything. Patrick Sampson, with his latest single "More Than the Moment," reminds me of a long lost troubadour named Richard Buckner. It's something about that whispered vocal affect, the soft glissando, the little lifts of countrified falsetto, that seem to ache in resonance with the work-fields and dark woods of Appalachia.

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Patrick Sampson is barely in his 20s, yet already finds himself channeling a lyrical depth of the generations before him, somehow finding effortless communion with a narrative timeline that extends far beyond his short chapter of years.

"More Than the Moment" is a heavily emotional song, delivered acoustically, with an added touch of washed-out electric guitar. The raw and expressive vocal from Samson pairs beautifully with a lilting duet harmony from Laurel Wright. This beautiful and poignant song reflects on the daily struggle towards sanity that we all wrestle with, while holding out hope for the future and a brighter tomorrow.

Most days we can drown in the minutes
You just have to trust the years
More than the moment
