Indie pop artists Madeline and Makk Mikkael have teamed up for duet "Ugly Feeling," released last week. This powerful and dynamic track pairs a lush acoustic sensibility with an exploration of jealousy and self-reflection, leveraging the expansive vocal abilities of both young artists.

Makk and I wrote this song on New Year's Day 2024; we were both coming out of a weird December. As we were talking, we admitted that this time of the year brought us a lot of jealousy.

"Ugly Feeling" dives into the internal conflict of that shameful possessiveness, as we grapple with the fear of being vulnerable. A dynamic and creative arrangement leverages the hook on acoustic guitar while adding layers of synth, percussion, and assorted electronica to round out the mix. It's one of those songs that pulls you right in and goes by too fast.

Montreal based artist Makk Mikkael (MacKenzie Michael) grew up surrounded by musicians in Whitefish, Montana. Now currently residing in Montreal she is signed to her producer Alex Lustig and has been in the studio writing for her upcoming EP.
