California Dark Pop Future Legend. - Lyrah: Sorry CVS

We've written about Lyrah before. She's a supremely talented songwriter with a knack for dour, sexy pop that exudes a sort of timeless ennui. She's beautiful, she's mysterious, Lyrah is everywhere at once: with nods from Spotify’s "Fresh Finds", Tidal’s playlist "Pop Somber", and Apple Music’s "Vibes” and “Nightcap", she's already in your head. Most recently she‘s had songs featured in HBO’s "The Sex Lives of College Girls" and "Charmed."
Although Lyrah got started as a writer for other artists, in recent years she has made a name for herself in savvy indie pop and electronic circles, with cameos for synthwave luminaries LOVVS among many others and a string of delectable singles. "Sorry CVS" finds her crooning about cancer and a criminal healthcare system and stealing peanut m&ms from CVS—as she delivers another deeply rhythmic showcase of her unmistakable vocal presence.
I wrote [Sorry CVS] with my brother shortly after his diagnosis and it made us laugh while we wrote it. We took some fucked up life events and turned it into a cathartic banger. — Lyrah
Stealing from the CVS this time
I’m not sorry bout your bottom line
Doing donuts in the parking lot
I mean I’m eating em with all my heart
They say the best things in life are free
And I can tell you if I know what they mean
They say the best things in life are free
And if I take more will it ever hit me?
Sorry CVS was produced by Jon Wienner (who has produced for artists like Dominic Fike and bülow). Additional guitar was added by Benji Cormack from slenderbodies.
