21-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer LoveLeo is, simply put, a pop sensation. When he was a kid, Leo Reilly - aka LoveLeo - got excited when one of his friends made a "really bad" rap song. He’d recorded it directly into the SoundCloud app, and Reilly understood immediately that he could do the same, just way better.
Reilly bought a cheap mic and trawled YouTube for beats that would fit his still-developing style. After experimenting for a few years and decamping to San Francisco to study fashion, Leo finally landed on an upbeat sound that was a perfect fit for his eclectic and unique sense of artistic inspiration. Later, back at his parents’ house, situated at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, he put together breakout single "BOYFREN" in his childhood bedroom while his mom and dad were making chicken parm for dinner. For his follow-up single "Rosie," Reilly sets his sights on the psychological warfare of dating apps, and how that manifests in real-world relationships. As co-director for his music videos, LoveLeo connects a smoldering style with a strong sense of humor and a playful sense of personal freedom. He is unencumbered by any fealty to genre, and seeks only to create memorable narratives as an extension of his idiosyncratic, youthful world-view. With a light touch and an ear for simple melodic hooks, the music of LoveLeo is full of surprises, chaotic symbolism, and an irrepressible joie-de-vivre.
