Upbeat Indie Pop from Northern California. - Leon in the Wild: You Can Leave a Mess in Here

This circular, pop-friendly introspection will have you cruising up highway 1, window down, chasing a pacific sunset into the forests of Mount Tamalpais.

Leon in the Wild is the self-produced project of indie artist Leon, originally from the sunny beaches of Northern California. "You Can Leave a Mess in Here" delivers an upbeat and summery bedroom-pop vibe, as Leon describes driving from the coast to the mountains during a prior move from California to the Rocky Mountains.

Following up on the success of his debut single, "Fade," released in May 2020, Leon in the Wild uses his car to represent a safe space he can offer the girl he loves - a place where she can to be vulnerable, messy, and most of all, herself. As the song progresses, the drive from his hometown into the unknown becomes a growth experience, as we do battle with anxiety and a complicated past. Leon in the Wild’s music pulls from a variety of influences that range from super-bands like The Beatles and The Beach Boys, to 90's heroes like The Smashing Pumpkins, Eels, and Built to Spill, along with lesser-known indies like The Smith Westerns, Pond, The Honeysticks, and Pinegrove. "You Can Leave a Mess in Here" combines a pensive sense of lyricism with hints of starry-eyed hope, as Leon opens his heart to a future that has yet to materialize. This circular, pop-friendly introspection will have you cruising up Highway 1, window down, chasing a pacific sunset into the forests of Mount Tamalpais.
