Katherine Paterson is a singer and songwriter based in Dallas, Texas. She wrote this beautiful and touching song in a moment of grief, and out of need to remember and honor the spirit and laughter of a loved one.

With "Priscilla," Katherine hits a redemptive and spiritual note, somehow twisting the concept of sorrow into a celebration of life. Combining classic elements of folk, rock, and Americana, Patterson self describes her music simply as 'indie folk,' which touches on at her facility with storytelling and a knack for writing 'music that keeps you company.'

With a gorgeous vocal presence, Katherine Paterson's talent for songwriting came into its own through a series of 'gifts' - writing one of her first songs from the journal entries of a cross-country road trip with a friend, and continuing to find inspiration in the process of shedding light on these 'day in the life' moments. The result is a style of music as inviting as it is familiar, as Katherine deftly navigates the universal touchstones of human existence with originality and poise.

every note I sang I sang for you, 'cause
Breathing is easy
when you know someone loves you
