There's something about a really well-produced song that just feels completely universal. This is one of those songs. She is singing in Spanish, but it almost doesn't matter–it could just as easily be French, or Italian, or Portuguese. The romance languages always work sso well with themes of introspection and love. The melody is right where you want it to be, the drums are mixed really nicely; but also sort of out of the way. And the arrangement just speaks for itself. When you hear the verse, the chorus already feels inevitable, and overall the song just flows in a very natural and compelling way. Well done.
"Dirán Alto," which translates as "they will say to stop", is a sticky song with some nice hooks on the electric guitar that serves as a reminder not to let the opinions of others weigh us down. This beautiful track sits right at the intersection of Folk-Pop and Americana, and offers a early glimpse into the career of young songwriter Emy Woods. As a debut song, this counts as one of the best I've ever heard from a new artist.
