Cynthia Catania has been a force in the international music scene ever since arriving in Los Angeles on the heels of the Northridge earthquake. Her instantly recognizable vocal presence brings life and energy to any project that she takes under her wing. Perhaps best known for her collaboration with Dublin-born Annmarie Cullen as indie-pop duo Saucy Monky, she has performed for festival audiences across Europe and charted on Irish radio—amassing a long list of TV and film placements that includes iCarly, Zoey 101, Drake n' Josh, Blue Bloods, and many more.

With her other projects on hiatus, Cynthia returned to Ireland in 2019 for another chapter of solo music-making. She describes "Only Time Will Tell" as a 'pandemic fairytale' and a 'medieval take on a modern plague.' The small joys and deep sorrows of a seemingly endless pandemic that were experienced worldwide inspired this song and video: the abandoned tourist destinations, the rediscovered comforts of home, and an unexpected growth of intimacy with our most cherished loved ones. Cynthia explores the wisdom and grace that emerges from her years of experience as a performer with a lush production palette that includes orchestral elements like flute and pizzicato strings along with a range of folk-inspired instruments. Paired with a dynamic mix of organic drums and percussion Cynthia explores her own past for nuggets of timely insight—and even sings a few bars in French. The result is an immersive soundscape filled with her unforgettable vocal style and a wry sense of humor, exposing the unquenchable exuberance that thrives at the core of her art.

Lipstick on my face
It's been a year isolate
It's a good hair day
Still in the game

The music video was directed by Sue Ann Pien, cast member of As We See It currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The video was shot in Avignon, France, where the Palace of Popes reminds us that plagues have always been a part of our world, as they once ravaged this beautiful French castle fortress in the 14th century. It's how we deal with these ravaging forces of nature that distinguish our humanity. — Sue Ann
