Brian Walker - What I Miss Most

"What I Miss Most" is the 7th release off of Brian Walker's debut album PASSIO. The music video for this song was shot in Seaport in Boston, MA and on Walker's family farm in East Kingston, NH, where he was born and raised. Brian co-stars in the music video with the talented LA-based actress Aislinn Evans, which was written from personal experience, and details the range of romantic evolution from starry-eyed youth to the subtle disillusionment of adulthood.

But what I miss most
Is your hazelnut eyes
Just talkin all night
Making up worlds, never concerned

On this single, I connected deeply with the quality of the production, as well as a throwback element to the synth pop vibe that somehow brings me back to the pop sensibilities of the late 80s, when bands like The Cure and Duran Duran competed with someone like Howard Jones for the spotlight. Although the main theme here is driven by nostalgia, there is a reverence and respect for the art of romance here that I think deserves a moment in the spotlight. I also really enjoy that combination of a subtle four on the floor with a 16th-note pulse on the electric bass.
