It is wonderful to see that Hazlett is finally starting to get the recognition that he deserves, we've written about him many times before—and over the years his star has continued to rise. I think it's worth pointing out that Nettwerk has stuck with him and offered support as his style and popularity was developing, something that seems to now be also happening for fellow folk-pop maestro and label-mate Freyr.

Every now and then I check the Spotify numbers for artists that have been on my radar for a while, and it's nice to see him close to 1 million monthly listeners which represents quite a milestone for an indie artist like him. Hazlett writes consistently fantastic songs at the intersection of folk and pop, with a distinctive vocal aesthetic and an ever-present acoustic guitar. His next album "Bloom Mountain" will be out early next year via Nettwerk Music. For now we are happy to enjoy his latest single "Tell Me What You Dream About."

This wistful retrospective doubles as a note from our future self, and reminds us that everyone deserves both love and forgiveness. It's important to work hard, but also critical that we play even harder. Dreams are the currency of our future, and in his inimitable style, Hazlett underscores this point with wit and intricacy. He's never sounded better, and I am looking forward to his next release which could easily push him over the top as a new shining light in the world of folk and acoustic pop.

Lights all on
Guests away
But tomorrow could brew up a storm
Just to ruin your day

Forks in roads
Knives of change
But the diva in me said to you
That she’d rather stay

So all we wanna do
Is turn around the car for you
Bury how you’re feeling now
Tell me what you dream about

Oh for all the money
Tell me what you dream about
Oh since there’s honey
Tell me what you dream about

I think you need to step out of your own self to see things clearly sometimes. Life becomes pretty heavy when you can't brush by a little inconveniences or the fear of failing. So I tried to picture of what my future self would be telling me if we were friends. Waiting for me, cheering me on and reminding me of everything I've done so far. I think we forget that we need to encourage ourselves from time to time. — Hazlett
