Juan Ignacio Diaco Vidal is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and luthier based in London. He performs under the moniker 808g, and "glOw" is his debut single—which mixes up elements of trip-hop, electronic, and slowcore with an easy vibe and a gorgeous production aesthetic.

This chimerical groove is a preview from his forthcoming debut EP, "aWakeNed," and showcases Vidal's talent for stylistic originality and visual sumptuousness. Juan also credits RnB, dream-pop, and rioplatense as sonic touchstones, while the music video was filmed in one of most magnificent open-air art spaces on the planet—Gibellina, Sicily.

Juan was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of nine he started teaching himself how to play guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums, soon joining up with local bands to perform around the country. After studying sound engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Lanús, he worked as a live sound engineer and studio producer, while also training as a luthier/guitar technician.

In 2014, Juan moved to London, where he worked at guitar repair workshops around the capital city. While his obvious passion for music connected him with top-tier shops around Camden Town, and Denmark Street, he worked as a luthier for high-profile artists like Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Mercury Prize-winner Michael Kiwanuka, Grammy-winners Mumford & Sons, and King Krule. He later taught Brit Award-winners Bastille how to play the traditional rhythms of his home country. Juan also continued to work with different bands as a guitarist, and even busked around town. After working as a guitar technician at Abbey Road, mastering engineer Alex Wharton spotted Juan’s potential, and encouraged him to focus more of his attention on writing and performing original material. 808g was born out of that enthusiastic creative energy.

"glOw" delivers a captivating and dynamic experience that lifts electro pop into a cerebral dream-state, bringing electronic drums together with rap, layers of vocal harmony, electric guitar, and sitar. Juan will make his live debut in London on October 30th, at Hope and Anchor (in Islington).
