With a 1960's theme to the footage and the sound, and what sounds like the voice of Paolo Nutini, Jim Audet makes a statement about recurring themes in youth culture. It's a Chamber Pop sensibility and the lyrical style of a jazz crooner on his fourth Scotch-with-1-ice-cube.

Jim Audet finds a way with his cracked-pepper baritone to deliver a jangly disco-pop song in a time capsule from the Nixon presidency. Sex & Money feels like a vignetted window into that time, with the sonic essentials of an acoustic guitar, a piano, and a string quartet.

Jim Audet is a singer-songwriter from Montreal, Québec. His song is featured this week on the CHILL NEW Songwriters playlist.
