This is a deeply sad song about being connected politically to the heart of this country and feeling helpless inside the current chaos. It is a strong theme we are seeing a lot of in recent months. Luckily, the production is so strong and the hook is so good that you might be forgiven for feeling pretty good about it. It's a classic lemonade-from-lemons moment. Drink it up.

In this song you wake up as if for the first time and consider your options for self-medication:

“when you bury so deep in alcohol
that you won’t remember anything you said again”— Foresteater
