Melodic Acoustic Pop. - Listen to FINNEAS: Luck Pusher

The under-sketch of raw poise is still visible beneath the muted and scant contexture: simple beauty, served over a framework of vulnerability.

It’s a pristine arpeggiated acoustic guitar, and some ambient shimmering pads, but the main focus of the mix is the lead vocal and the subtle harmony. The song seems to come and go quickly, at just under 3 minutes, but finishes with such a sparse and bittersweet luxury that your ears will ask for a replay.

There is the hand of a confident songwriter at work here, where the personality and tenor of the song are in utter conflux with the lyricism and melodic structure. The result is a refined canvas, where the under-sketch of raw poise is still visible beneath the muted and scant contexture: simple beauty, served over a framework of vulnerability.

FINNEAS is the brother of Billie Eilish, and has spent much of the last year primarily focused on writing and producing her debut EP, don’t smile at me. This song is featured on our Rainy Day playlist.
