It makes you feel good without having to think about it too much.

With the tight stutter on the hi-hat, the beefy bass line, and the syncopation of that 2nd snare hit in every bar, we have a fun groove that puts you right on the beach: white sand, sunset, cocktails. It has that party pulse, and the laid-back sense of space.

A cyclic sense of dynamics gives you a feeling of home the second time around. This is the kind of music I like to listen to when I write - it makes you feel good without having to think about it too much. This one might remind you a bit of Fatboy Slim in the days of big beat.

DIY HIFI is the musical project of Ian Bevis, a musician and producer from Vancouver, BC. This song is featured on our Instrumental playlist.
