Thomas Oliver is an award-winning singer-songwriter who is known for his warm vocal tone, his engaging stage presence, and his expert hand on slide guitar. "Coffee" is a song that was co-written with friend and fellow New Zealander Mitch James in an Airbnb in Berlin, later produced by Oliver in his Berlin studio.

The love of coffee is the perfect metaphor for the love for the right person; no matter how many mornings you drink coffee, you never stop wanting it. It is one of the few things you can do every day, and still look forward to, just like good love. - Thomas Oliver

With millions of views and streams across different platforms, Thomas has developed an international audience from his home-base in New Zealand, and has performed throughout New Zealand, Australia, Europe and Vietnam, while sharing the stage with such legends as Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton and Fat Freddy's Drop. Thomas is also internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading players of the Weissenborn lap-steel guitar. The video for "Coffee" was shot in Tokyo during the Rugby World Cup, while the city was even more vibrant and intense than usual. It features striking choreography from Elina Ayako, who also doubles as a fictional love-interest, and the sense of compressed energy and controlled chaos of Tokyo at sunset, as Thomas Oliver chases the fading light across the unique city. A pop-friendly vocal performance with hints of soul combines with an infectious rhythm, and explores the depth of affection and positive disposition that true love can bring.

Thomas Oliver's brand new album "The Brightest Light" will be out on March 6th and is available for pre-order here. This song is featured on our Roots Collection playlist.
