Charlottesville, Virginia: Stray Fossa have just released their latest single "For What Was." This impressive track is a departure from their typical dreamy sound, as Stray Fossa explores a more up-tempo, bouncy, and energetic performance.

Stray Fossa mixes hints of production polish with genuine moments of creative discovery, such as the vocal take for the chorus - "something I could be the first to know…" - which was recorded with a phone in a moment of inspiration. Combining a unique experimental rock style with a nod to dream pop, "For What Was" delivers an invigorating blend of guitar effects, driving beats, and enigmatic vocals. After a gradual process of chipping away at, and reshaping the song’s many different parts, eventually "For What Was" bopped and bounced to perfection. Call it dream pop, or indie rock, this intoxicating sonic brew balances a warm snare tone against a controlled-chaos of electric guitar, electronic hooks, and enchanting melody.
