We got our first taste of Spacey Jane years ago when we covered their single "Cold Feet," and we've been fans ever since. This exciting indie band from Australia has that magic combination of intriguing, intricate songwriting with an instantly recognizable vocal signature and an instinct for raw, toe-tapping rock and roll. When we first wrote about them, we pointed out a wonderful synergy between the core instruments of guitar, bass, and drums.
Building on that undeniable band chemistry, Spacey Jane's next full-length release "Here Comes Everyone" further solidifies their status as one of Australia's most successful indie rock bands in recent years. Now they are getting ready to connect with their worldwide audience through a year of international touring and new releases to come. We are happy to see them building on their success and releasing such fantastic music—this release promises to be their best yet.
I wrote this song about how I was feeling like my life was a bit like one of those nightmares where you’re at school with no pants, except I used the metaphor of being on set and forgetting all of your lines (because it felt less silly). I guess it’s about anxiety but also just having no idea what I’m doing even though I want it to look like I really do. — Caleb Harper
The beginning of Spacey Jane’s astonishing success in Australia came behind closed doors. Their debut album ‘Sunlight’, was received with the backdrop of a continuing lockdown in June 2020. The members are vocalist and guitarist Caleb Harper, bassist Peppa Lane, guitarist Ashton Le Cornu and drummer & manager Kieran Lama.
