With a vocal style that might remind you of Phoebe Bridgers, or Bon Iver, Sabel delivers a moody, acoustic-driven resolution of inner turmoil, and finds a path towards redemption with this impassioned recollection of a troubled past. Equal parts coming-of-age, and cosmic reflection, the theme here is simply one of embracing change as a natural part of life.

The second single off of Sabel's debut EP, Mirth Drive is a folk-flavored ballad steeped in a mystical sense of melancholy, that defines the half-light space of universal empathy and clarity that can visit us from time to time. Although the inspiration may come and go, it is important to remember the moments where everything made sense.

I’m home again
It seems that everything is in its place

Because from that brief moment of stillness, we find a sense of direction, and then we just let go. Mirth Drive, the latest from Sabel, is a cathartic light in the darkness for any girl with a lonely heart.

Formally known as Isabella Rose, Sabel is currently attending her senior year in the Creative American Music program at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. This song is featured on our Rainy Day playlist.
