Paula Tartell has been making songs from her bedroom in Brooklyn, NYC for years. But now, she is ready to begin sharing. I was immediately impressed with the punk rock vibe, and the lyrical presence. Really, it was the off-the-cuff kind of stuff that solidified it for me. Anyone leading with that sort of unfettered vocal expression, come-as-it-may, clearly shares my passion for authenticity through improvisation. Beyond the blistering tempo, the slight "Pet Sounds" / surf reference just adds to the frantic energy. So many notes, so little time. I  don't have a lot more info on this promising new artist from the East Coast; but this big-hearted, surprisingly memorable song is a great way to get acquainted with her sound.

"Canary," the latest single from PAULA T is a bold and spicy bit of legit punk-rock expression. It's neurotic, it's unexpected, it's brief. Boxes, checked.
