Wistful Folk Pop. - My Fathers Son: Ribbon in the Wind

This heartfelt folk ballad is a deeply personal and reflective exploration of life, set against the rich language and imagery of naturalistic poetry. Maybe it is true that all we need to know is written in the stars, and the many faces and phases of the moon.
Mark Kulmala, is a Montreal-based musician, originally from Sault Ste Marie, wrote this song just after turning 30. Often drawing on his own experiences, Kulmala is not afraid to use his own dreams as fodder for the creative workings of his personal muse. Ribbon in the Wind brings together a hazy sense of emotional purpose and historical narrative, meant to create a sense of resignation, and perhaps even comfort, in fact that nothing ever resolves - there can be stillness, but we are never still.
Indie folk outfit My Father’s Son hails from Montreal. This song is featured on our Rainy Day playlist.
