Minor League - The Great Southwest

This is the tangible sound of band synergy: the vocal style, the deft lyricism, and the sloppy perfection; the single pedal tone on the Wurlitzer, that seems to palpitate, and explode. With a tight sense of harmony, and an inspired melodic cadence, the stylistic references here range from Appalachian folk, to Southern rock, and Americana.
“Look at me
I’m a red-rosy silhouette
are we there yet?”— Minor League
Perhaps the message is that we all must find our own path to a hole in the ground; there is an improvisational theme to everything, and it feels spontaneous, which is a hard thing to preserve in the recording process. Minor League leaves us with some lively food-for-thought in this rock meditation on the meaning of life.
