The distinctive guitar-playing, with the sound of the slide, and the slow tremolo, complements the spring reverb on the lead vocal to create a throwback sense of tonality that might remind you a bit of Lowell George. The rhythm section, with the live-sounding combination of drums and bass, puts that 3-piece sound on display. It’s not until the bridge that we get some vocal harmony.

And after getting very familiar with that bouncy guitar hook, we are treated to a slide solo that splits the difference between the blazing speed of a Robert Randolph, and the tasty zen-efficiency of a Daniel Lanois. Luke Enyeart hits the Nashville roots scene with a unique playing style and heartfelt vocal delivery taking center stage as the hallmarks of his sound.
