LEROCQUE joins up with international producer and The Voice France contestant Alejandro Reyes for a hot new single. "Asesina" delivers an unconventional blend of Latin urban dance music and commercial pop, as we explore the subject of female empowerment, and the mysterious, ineffable power of femininity itself.
LEROCQUE was born in Portugal as Pedro Rodrigues, and emigrated in the 90s with his parents to Switzerland. As a child, Pedro spent a lot of time in front of the television - in the Disney worlds of The Lion King and Star Wars, as well as in the virtual universes of Zelda and Final Fantasy. LEROCQUE is the alias that brought him luck as a gamer, so it became the name for his musical persona, which also serves as an homage to the hobby that gave Pedro his English language skills.
With the dream of joining a band firmly in mind, Pedro connected with "One Day Remains" via an online ad, and it was through this connection that Pedro met his future wife. He soon found himself aspiring to create something completely on his own - something intoxicating, and ultra-cool. After learning more about the craft of making music from mentor Matthias Hillebrand-Gonzalez, Matthias and Pedro formed a songwriting partnership, and began releasing their collaborations as LEROCQUE. After successfully releasing edgy, electronic dance pop singles like "Venemo" amd "Hanging Out With The Cool Kids," they return with "Asesina." LEROCQUE fuses a bilingual sensibility with hints of synth-pop and industrial electronic music, with an instinct for big pop hooks and fresh rhythms.
But you can’t stop her once she’s lit
Set on fire she’s a renegade
You can’t stop her she’s a blade
On a deadly promenade
