From the banks of the river Meurthe, Laura Cahan writes chic French pop from her home in Nancy, France. Growing up in a family of music lovers, Laura began to play piano and guitar when she was a child and soon began writing her own songs as a teenager. Clearly also influenced by the equally ubiquitous and sultry presence of the 'chanteuse' in French culture, from Piaf to Sanson, Laura continues to project her unique sensibilities onto a backdrop of light, jazzy electro pop.

On tour recently in France as well as abroad, notably in Quebec, the United States, England, Norway, and many times in Germany, Laura received much praise for her first record Nord, which was produced by Samy Osta. Her appearance often attracts attention – as she routinely performs in what she calls 'war paint.' Her unique vocal ability really speaks for itself, as latest track 'Partout' blends modernity and tradition with a beautifully cultivated mix of guitar, synthesizer, and both acoustic and electronic drum sounds.

This song was written in Dieppe, on the coast of Normandy, with a sea view and the scent of apricots. It's about a rather complicated love story...
