Jordan Max - War

The kick drum sounds deep and mysterious; when the mix kicks in fully for a moment it is much like the rumblings of a rock army.

I would call this apocalyptic funk-pop in the style of Jamie Lidell. The piano and the vocal together create the melancholic canvas, and that slow 6/8 tears it up, with a groove and subtle swing that brings D'Angelo to mind.

The piano has a beautiful withered sound to it, the production is layered with lots of space and time to let the notes crumble. The kick drum sounds deep and mysterious; when the mix kicks in fully for a moment it is much like the rumblings of a rock army.
