Nashville Americana for Fans of Lukas Nelson. - Jeff Crosby: Northstar

3
Born and raised in a sleepy mountain town in northern Idaho, singer-songwriter Jeff Crosby creates wistful and poetic music that treads a line between the genres of folk, rock, and Americana. Writing about the rare beauty found in his travels and the unconventional stories of the people and places he has encountered along the way, his songs exude a quality of timelessness that has allowed him to spend the last decade sharing the stage with performers such as Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Charley Crockett, Widespread Panic, American Aquarium, Nikki Lane, and many more.
After dropping out of school at the age of 17 to pursue touring full-time with a band on the west coast, Jeff now makes his living by permanently staying on the road and has found a way to thrive in spite of the hardship, by delivering poignant original music to his audience. For years, home for Crosby was a little shoebox apartment off of Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Through a chance encounter with a music editor for the critically-acclaimed television show Sons of Anarchy, he ended up with two songs featured on the program. Now based in Nashville, Jeff Crosby continues to tour and share stories with his fans, building on his reputation for sharp writing and hard living. With a prominent use of lap-steel, acoustic piano, and electric guitar, "Northstar" is a fast-paced single that evokes images of spontaneous love and the open road, reminding us that we always have the power to make our own dreams real with the twin powers of intention and shrewd opportunism. Crosby's music splits the difference between Lukas Nelson and Gregory Alan Isakov, by joining the lyrical gravitas of gritty circumstance with the driving rock-energy of modern Americana.
Waiting on a sign or a light to shine
Or a path to take me out of this place
These city lights bury the north star
And I can't find my way
This song is featured on our Roots Collection playlist.
