Ha ha, I love this song so much. Everything about it. It's rough and exhilarating, and it ends in a way that takes you by surprise the first time, and ends up feeling like the most natural thing after a few more listens. Which, to me, is always the mark of a song that expands your consciousness in one way or another. It's funny to think about: all we have are guitars and drums and other things, and so much has already been said, and it takes a certain kind of prowess to go after a sound as classic as this, with so very many wonderful predecessors. But with great risk comes great reward, and in this case, it just feels like a smashing success. Somehow, this new band with no history to speak of, can just knock a double on the first at-bat. It's quite something, really. "Ramona" meshes layers of crunchy electric guitar with killer one-liners like "if I dream it enough, I could dream it forever," in a grab-bag of classic Brit-rock references that you'd have to be as drunk as Keith Richards to miss.

But look, this shit speaks for itself. This guy is like part Eddie Vedder and part Liam Gallagher. I dunno. Rock is rock. This just works for me. I have no notes.
