Grandma releases his debut mixtape Even If We Don’t Get It Together, featuring a wild collaboration with Rico Nasty called 'Stomp and Grind.' Besides working in the studio, they also got together in Los Angeles for the official music video, and the results are stunning.
Gritty visuals, oversaturated colors, and a sizzling vocal performance from Rico Nasty underscore the primal yawp of this urban get-down. Grandma is an Atlanta-based multi-instrumentalist who grew up in a family steeped in rock, soul, funk, gospel and blues; his upbringing was defined by song, art, and humor - as well as angst. Now, the musical chameleon has tapped rapper, songwriter and record-producer Rico Nasty for a disco-flavored collaboration that explores a late-night party scene, touches of cocaine-fever, hotel-club psychedelia, and raw sexuality. With a skilled hand for lo-fi, bedroom pop, and slow funk, rising artist Grandma is one to watch - he is signed to Atlantic Records, and this music video was directed by miggy.
Besides producing music, Grandma makes all his visuals alongside a community of creatives and close friends. This song is featured on our Groovy Summer playlist.
