We've written about Dax many times before (link) – it's been a joy to witness his rise. At the beginning, it was more of a simple rap sensibility, and now it's in full crossover land, where obviously the vocal cadence is still very spoken-word adjacent, but we're now in the land of pop. And to be fair, it's a natural place for Dax to be. My take on this artist is just that he's super resilient, super adaptable, but also very committed to a thread of something deeper; that invisible source that feeds the artists of our time. "Place of Peace" is a study in the art of relationship management, which of course doubles as a test run for life itself. So that we understand the world, and the relationships in it, so may we understand ourselves.
