There is a display of the stereotypical trappings of rock: coming-of-age self-discovery, a prominent acoustic guitar, a high counterpoint on the electric bass, coupled with that unmistakeable SoCal breezy-palm-tree feeling. A power-pop vocal treatment that might remind you of Big Star, together with an easy drum pocket, makes this one feel like it could get tucked into a Tarantino soundtrack somewhere. It lives in that time-warp you can find most nights in the space between The Roxy and the Rainbow Room.
