British producer, songwriter, and guitarist Beau Diako follows up on his 2019 debut EP with first single of 2020, entitled "Animal." This RnB-laced track features a stellar vocal performance from SoCal native COCO PM, and builds on a jam session with Galimatias in Los Angeles.

On this track, Diako explores his newfound love for nylon string guitar, as Coco adds some beautiful melodies to the chords Beau was playing with in the studio. "Animal" was finished quickly back at home on his return to England.

[Animal] is probably the first song I’ve released within only a few months of its creation. – Beau Diako

A sense of improvisation and stylistic freedom elevates this track, as Beau adds his distinctive and precise feel on guitar to a gorgeous string arrangement, with a mix of jazz and neo-soul vibes from the rhythm section. Diako is a self-taught musician, and takes influences from a diverse range of artists that includes Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, James Blake, and Joanna Newsom. "Animal" lays down a lighthearted and effervescent groove that celebrates the magic of personal connection, and makes the case for primal love as the greatest force in the world.

drinking with u
i go
to a primal state of mind
and i say what i feel
u want the truth
i give it to you when
i turn in to an animal
ya then i turn you to an animal so we can find
everything we wanna be in the wild
