Bears in Hazenmore - Winter Air (feat. Megan Nash)

A solemn and emotional vocal duet couples with a band instrumentation that reminds me a bit of Cake. The simple message here is to appreciate the magic that lives inside every moment. Nature gives us all the entertainment we need, when we turn off our cell phones and venture into the wild unknown.

Beyond the wonderful personality from the vocal performance, there seems to be a connection here between the artists and their environment, as a sort of seance with the season itself.

Speechless sounds, impending winter, speaks

A lively ending is worth waiting for, and this song has a gentle yet dynamic feel that is truly gorgeous. As the washed-out guitar notes mimic the experience of falling flakes, the chorus harmony does the same, and when the drum pocket hits, we have arrived: in a valley, quiet from the snowy blanket of morning; enjoying a trumpet solo.

Winter Air, the latest from Saskatchewan’s Bears in Hazenmore, is the private moment we all need to reconnect with ourselves.

Bears in Hazenmore are an ambient alternative rock group based out of Regina, Treaty 4 Territory, Saskatchewan. This song is featured on our Rainy Day playlist.
