So this music is listed as Synthwave, but it's not like some throwback thing to 80s New Wave Pop. Oh no. this is a very different sound, with an industrial flavor, closer perhaps to dark wave, or Gothic. "Gruppensex" is powerful stuff, but also feels well designed, as a bit of controlled chaos. This is truly unique music, the likes of which I cannot say I've heard before: it's heavy, & viscous. This is music that conveys a certain kind of wickedness; a sort of sinful gloaming, underscored by a chorus of mealy synthesizers.

Bastardizer is the musical project of two close friends in the Czech Republic, who are both inspired by the punk and hardcore scene. Armed with the need to do something different and a healthy appreciation for the work of obscure Iraqi electronics doyen Samir Hauser, these two friends have decided to create something new. A bit of frenetic double-bass drum; a mangled perception of reality; and layers of thick, bristling distortion. This is how we make the dumpling. "Gruppensex" is anything you want it to be. It's already in your head.
