Based in New York, B.Miles is occasionally reclusive but emerges as fearless from behind a microphone. She has a number of successful singles under her belt, the most notable of which is probably "Salt" - with close to 30 million streams on Spotify alone. Impressive.

It's a very precise, very well-managed & sultry city-after-dark sound, with triumph & pathos on a plate of slack-string guitar riffs, just pummeling us from the gutter like Stevie Ray Vaughan playing with a nickel. Love that tone. But behind it all is that melodic whisper, not unlike a bit of Hope Sandoval mixed with Maggie Rogers.

Gorgeous falsetto lifts; the occasional Celtic trill; this is the sound of a spirit being lifted. With "Xmas Sox," hers is the courage we all crave, which is to truly explore the metaphoric significance of Christmas socks. B.Miles explains:

You know how certain objects can trigger a flood of memories? For me, it’s Christmas socks—specifically, my ex’s Christmas socks. While going through a breakup, I found something of an unlikely metaphor in those socks: they’re an item everyone has, but are often hidden, just like the emotions I kept buried about our relationship. There’s a certain romance in continuing to wear something that once held such comfort and charm, especially around the holidays, even as the meaning has shifted to something more somber.
