Dawson Daugherty and Luke Fabry grew up playing music together, and they met Cole Clisby while surfing. In 2015 they decided to start a band together by writing songs with a distinct surf-rock feel.
They got their start playing self-booked shows in the back room of a San Diego surf shop. With influences that range from Oasis and The 1975 to Frank Ocean, 'almost monday' delivers an energetic mixture of effortless charm and bouncy groove. "parking lot view," their latest offering, combines an anthemic gang-vocal chorus with a verse style that mixes hip-hop grooves with a moment of romantic introspection and an instinct for letting loose. The result is a party vibe that will get stuck in your ears with the idea that being lonely never felt so good. This alt-pop banger leaves you with the feeling that life is too short for pessimism: where there is celebration, there is hope.
Since collaborating with A-list LA producer Mark Needham, the band connected with producer Simon Oscroft, who helped them create their first batch of recordings. During a D.I.Y. show at an airplane hangar less than a year later, 'almost monday' caught the attention of Hollywood Records, and quickly scored their record deal.
