A sultry stew of emotions, memories, and self-incriminations.

It’s the sadness of love, and a rage against the dying of the night. PHIE’s new single Rage sets a sweet groove, and couples it with a nice statement about accepting the least favorite things about yourself. And then, always, finding a way to celebrate.

What I like about this, apart from the switchblade-honey vocal performance, is the element of acceptance. It’s a message about being there for your friends and lovers, and about letting yourself just be.

Everywhere I go I’m a hurricane
Don’t want to die alone in my own crazy

Yet, we find that in the end we attract opposites for a reason, and that maybe the process of coming together is just a beautiful explosion that is happening right now. Rage, the latest release from PHIE, is a sultry stew of emotions, memories, and self-incriminations.

PHIE is a dream-pop artist from Denver, Colorado who combines Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift with sweet vocals and vulnerable lyrics. Her debut EP Reckless released in 2017. This song is featured on our CHILL Angeles playlist.
