Did not find you so i found ghosts
followed trails along the coast
sat back down for one last smoke
and that was all I needed
now is time to stand up tall
got my heels against the wall
i might rise, i might fall
that’s my religion

one by one we cross the wide
water and flames that fill the night
don’t lock me up behind those eyes
I’m not ready
I lose myself with every breath
piecing together what is left
I’m just not ready to be next
for some rebirth

I’m only waking up
I’m only waking up now

we can run and try to hide
maybe stop the failing tide
just come back tomorrow night
there is no difference
I have one thing forever mine
you can’t steal a place in time
look into Charon’s eyes
see your own reflection

one by one we cross the wide
water and flames that fill the night
don’t lock me up behind those eyes
I’m not ready
I lose myself with every breath
piecing together what is left
I’m just not ready to be next for some rebirth

I’m only waking up
I’m only waking up now
