Some wide-open space, a few tender notes of piano, and a whispered voice caresses your ears: tell me more. The chorus hits fast, and creates an instant sense of lift with steady movement, a slow back-and-forth.

This is a simple idea, generously embellished, and polished back down to a pop shine: it starts with so little, using dynamics and cinematic flourishes to split the space. The lyrics both describe and embody the action: the instinct to flee, to be alive, to take chances. By using mostly piano and reverb to assemble the harmony, the deep and brooding overtones of each note are allowed their muted reckoning.
