As a mid-tempo indie-rock groove, the lush production here borrows a little something from New Wave, with the use of keyboard sounds to punctuate the hook, and those reverb-drenched pads. The melody is perfectly memorable, and fits the pop-heavy style of songwriting.
It’s got that fluffy pulse and the modern electro-pop sound of an artist like Brett, and a more serious street cred similar to something like The Cure circa Head on the Door. It’s a dose of youthful artistic energy through the lens of an urban throwback 80’s-chic.
Formed in 2011 by members of several Russian indie rock bands, Hospital is the ambitious vision of lead vocalist Egor Berdnikov and additional band members Andrey Tsvetkov on lead guitar and backing vocals, Alexey Shorin on bass guitar, and Vladimir Balovnev on drums.
