We get a lot of interesting music here at CHILLFILTR, and this is one we had to write about because it’s so original. I would call this avant-garde synth-pop, and in some ways, it’s classic art-rock, right out of Bennington, or somewhere similar, putting some artistic pressure right where society is uncomfortable.
Anything sexuality-forward is going to raise some eyebrows, and clearly gv.grace did not let any societal compunction get in the way of her expression; it’s dangerous, it’s unexpected, and it’s strangely riveting. It’s a visual and lyrical jaunt through a world of colorful free association.
Genevieve Dymond of the synthpop band gv.grace is tremendously videogenic, and together with her partner Griff Dymond, she makes creative, provocative music videos. For their new track, Fuck Golf, they've turned to innovators Elise Mesner and Michael Atallah.
